Death was mistakenly reported early
Mom wanted to be a trapeze artist (was, until she fell from a trick horse).
Mom was a storyteller, very imaginative...sometimes lied.
Utrillo had terrible handwriting. Mom signed paintings for him.
Style:Used oil paints
White period 1909-1914 Zinc White paint mixed with sand. Glue and plaster to resemble the texture of old buildings (crumbly walls, many coats of paint)
Color: true relationships in tints and shades
Subject: Montmartre street scenes (artist district of Paris) or cathedrals. From memory or using postcards as a reference point.
Composition: simple, noble, ignored unnecessary details
School: individualist, influenced by Impressionists (1870-1910) but unique.
