Today we are going to learn about our artist by solving word puzzles.  For example our artist today is  (solve the following puzzle with the class)  Maurice Utrillo.  (All of these work puzzles are in the packet on 8 1/2 x 11 paper)

Simple game but most follow these three rules
1.  Raise your hand if you know the answer to the puzzle.  Do not yell out the answer or someone else will get your treat.

2.  When I call on you, you must give the whole correct answer.

3.  You will receive a "treat" for giving the right answer.  There is only one treat for each of you so after you have answered a puzzle correctly, let others have a chance. 

After we are done solving the puzzle, it will be my turn to speak.  I will then tell you about the artist and his artwork.  Please pay close attention as when we are done, those who did not get a chance to solve a puzzle will be able to answer questions about the artist to get their treat.
